SINFONIA ON THE MOVE FEAT. OFF/BALANCE GARDENER

Chorepgraphy: Terhi Kuokkanen
Dance: Ville Oinonen
Oboe: Nahoko Kinoshita

Off/Balance is participating for the second time in Jyväskylä Symphony’s spring ensemble On the Move. On the Move features performances by the orchestra’s musicians in small ensembles across the city, and Off/Balance brings dance and movement to parts of the performances.

The joint work of 2019 is the duet Gardener by the dancer Ville Oinone, who also has merit in karate, and the Japanese oboist Nahoko Kinoshita. One of the Off/Balance’s artistic directors, Terhi Kuokkanen, is the choreographer.

All Symphony on the Move feat. Off/Balance events are free of admission and public. Each performance lasts about 20 minutes.

Jos et pääse tapahtumiin paikalle, kannattaa seurata orkesterin some-kanavia ahkerasti; monien paikkojen esityksistä striimataan livelähetystä esimerkiksi Facebookissa! Lisää tietoa: Sinfonia on the Move https://www.jyvaskylasinfonia.fi/jyvaskyla-sinfonia/yleisotyo/sinfonia-move

“The movement and presence of the dancers feels like tingling on the skin: one would like to touch and follow them with movement. The boundary between performers and the audience crumbles.

And then, suddenly, a scream begins, which becomes a furious roar. The atmosphere is electrified and gets a little confused as well. We are following a primary, shamanistic ritual.”
